Have you heard the song Beautiful Crazy by Luke Combs? It’s one of my favs!!! Some of the lyrics are Beautiful, crazy, SHE can’t help but amaze me…Yeah, SHE’s crazy, but her crazy is beautiful to me. He is singing about his girl…the crowd says AWWWWWW. But that’s our lives sometimes, isn’t it? It’s been my life for the last 4 weeks. That’s why you haven’t heard from me. I have spoken either at our church (@mybigchurch), at conferences and BIG events in between. You heard me. BUSY. And sometimes we can get REAL BUSY. So busy that we forget the little things that fulfill us and our purpose. As Luke Combs says, “Beautiful Crazy.”

I just feel like sometimes we can get so busy being busy that we begin to feel the pressure and the anxiety creeps in. BUT THAT is NOT how God wants us to feel especially when we are doing His work.

Don’t believe me? Let me prove it to you.

1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) says, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

YES. PLEASE. JESUS. Sign me up.

Sometimes we just need to take our Beautiful Crazy lives to God and say, “fix it, Jesus.”

If you’re anything like me (overachiever) and you always find yourself on the go (literally and figuratively) then feel like a mess (are a mess) and almost shut down (do shut down) then let me share some ways to recharge:

  • Shut down. Put your phone away. Take a bath. Light some candles. Sit in nature. Listen to some music. Take yourself on a date. Go to bed early. Do what you KNOW you need to do to recharge. Don’t make excuses.
  • Get in the word and let God speak to you about the areas that need to be refreshed and how to do it. If you don’t know where to start, google how you are feeling and put the word/scripture behind it and watch God show out. He always does, I promise.
  • GET AWAY. No partners, no kids, no preoccupations. Start speaking to Jesus. The stress will melt away. Dreams will be ignited even if you think they’ve died.

SHE’s crazy but her crazy is beautiful to me! And it is to others, too. People admire you! You are doing better than you think you are. Can we pinky promise to all take some time to recharge this week?
